Tri-Star Protector (“Tri-Star”) provides an environmental service to upstream oil & gas companies throughout North America and other international markets via the collection, refurbishment, and resale of pipe thread protectors.

Founded in 1990, Tri-Star has grown to become the market leader in sales of reconditioned thread protectors. The company has expanded both its product and service offering to include new thread protectors, bumper rings, and well site recycling services. With the broadest line of both new and reconditioned thread protectors in the industry, Tri-Star has become the industry’s most complete source of thread protectors. Tri-Star’s unique “green” well site service offering involves placement of a dedicated holding bin on-site, and ensures that thousands of tons of thread protectors, which otherwise would be landfilled, are disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Tri-Star’s processing facility, located in New Caney, TX, is ISO 9001 certified.

In August 2011, JMH acquired Tri-Star through a leveraged recapitalization. Tri-Star protector was subsequently acquired by a leading manufacturer of plastic product protection.
